HELP CENTER

WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD?

Sessions can be conveniently scheduled via telehealth, in your home, at your child's school, or in our office. Therapists will discuss options with you and are able to customize your treatment to your individual needs.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Please call the office to schedule your initial assessment. Once you are matched with a therapist, you will schedule with the therapist during hours convenient to your schedule (most therapists have weekend and evening availability).

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

Your therapy journey is individualized to your needs. Individual sessions are typically held weekly for about an hour and an additional family session monthly. Once you achieve 80% of your treatment goals, we recommend going to twice monthly sessions until completing 90% of your goals, then once montly for goal achievement and maintenance. SAIOP groups are held three days weekly for three hours each for twelve weeks. Your therapist will discuss options with you during treatment planning and review regularly.

WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Currently, we accept private pay clients on a sliding scale and the following insurance: Aetna, Ambetter, BCBS, Cigna, Corporate Benefits, UMR/Optum, United Healthcare, HealthChoice, and Medicaid (Vaya, Amerihealth Caritas, Carolina Complete, Eastpointe, Healthy Blue, UHC Community Plan, WellCare). We will be glad to accommodate information requests from your insurance company to assist you in filing. Some services may not be covered by your insurance and you may be subject to a copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Cash, check, and credit cards accepted.

Common prices for services include:

  • Private pay for individual, group, and family therapy sessions (starting at $145 for an hour long session, contact us for individualized pricing and discount options)

  • Late cancellation/no show fee (price of session/occasion)

  • Medical records requests ($15, copy fees apply for printed records)

  • Completion of documents (FMLA, disability, summary letters, etc) ($25/quarter hour)

  • Consultation (IEP meetings, coordination of care, etc) ($75/hour to include travel time and expenses)

  • Subpeona (request to testify) ($75/hour to include travel time and expenses)

We serve all clients regardless of ability to pay. We offer a Sliding Fee Scale based on family size and income.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

We appreciate 24-hour advanced notice of session cancellation and understand things come up. If we have not been notified at least 24 hours in advance, you will be held responsible for the full cost of the session (generally not covered by insurance).

CAN I SEE AN INTERN?

Interns at AHCS offer low cost services as they work under supervision of a licensed therapist at AHCS and their Master's program to gain training hours. All interns have completed coursework and practice in providing mental health and/or substance use therapy. Ask the office about the possibility of working with an intern for a reduced rate.
